As our Operations Generalist, you'll handle the practical aspects that keep our distributed team running smoothly across daily operations, recruiting and event management.
What you'll do
Daily Operations
- Track and process invoices and expenses
- Maintain clear documentation of processes and procedures
- Help new team members with onboarding
- Support team members with visa processes
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts
- Keep internal systems and processes running smoothly
- Handle coworking space arrangements
Sample: Palisade collaborates with RAND. In this role, you'd manage contracts and invoices, and coordinate directly with their contracts department.
Recruiting
- Manage and update candidate statuses across all stages of the recruitment pipeline
- Coordinate technical assessments and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams
- Process payments for completed technical assessments
- Publish and maintain job postings across relevant platforms
Sample: Create an API key in one of the services to send to the candidate along with the test assignment at the scheduled time.
Team and Industry Events
- Plan and execute team events like off-sites from start to finish in various locations around the world
- Book and coordinate venues, catering, and equipment
- Arrange travel for team members, speakers, and attendees
- Manage on-site logistics and vendor coordination
- Handle event registration and materials
- Write clear communications to all event participants
- Order and track event supplies and signage
Sample: You organize an off-site, from selecting a location and arranging travel to providing on-site support. Or: you organize a cybersecurity event, liaising with the platform vendor and advertising the event to possible participants.
What you'll need
- Operations Experience: 2-3 years managing multiple projects, with proven results in operations or project management
- Operational Execution: You can spin up new systems and keep trains running on time
- High Reliability: You follow through and follow up—things don’t slip through the cracks
- Generalist Mindset: Comfortable switching contexts and learning on the flys
- Communication Excellence: Clear written and verbal communication for coordinating across diverse teams
- Detail Orientation: You catch errors others miss and anticipate edge cases
- Proactivity: You see a broken process, you fix it—without being asked
- Tools Proficiency: Comfortable with Notion, Slack, Airtable, Google Workspace, and eager to learn more
- Startup Experience: Experience working in fast-changing environments
- ≥C1 English

Compensation and benefits
- Compensation: $18-35k USD per year based on fit & location. Please note that we cannot transact with countries under U.S. sanctions.
