With this project, we’re expanding our research into robots you can actually encounter in everyday life — robotic arms, robot dogs, rovers, etc. As a Robotics Engineer, you will prototype robotics demos that push the frontier of AI safety and hardware. You will ship fast, iterate hard, and be accountable for the technical excellence of our engineering project at the boundary of software and hardware.
What you'll do

Engineering
- Build and ship AI risk demos, that showcase current abilities of robotics in simulation and on real devices
- Identify and smash bottlenecks in the project

Technical Leadership
- Make key architecture choices for the demo stack and establish best practices

Collaboration
- Work closely with AI researchers & engineers
- Communicate with technical journalists, policymakers, and external partners to drive the project forward
Our collaboration process
- We post daily statuses for each other to keep in sync regarding our directions. Each project has a daily sync, and there’s a weekly lab demo to show off our results.
- We propose new ideas or directions by writing up a doc, sharing it, and getting comments. This enables async communication.
- We respect focus time and async work: response times are usually in hours, not minutes. We work in an independent and self-directed fashion. Your supervisor helps you maintain direction; colleagues help with the implementation; you keep track of your tasks and milestones.
- We offer high intellectual freedom and value curiosity. You are welcome to challenge anything we do.
What you'll need
Experience level
- 3+ years of experience in robotics
- Proven track record of executing complex engineering projects
Core skills
- Technical Expertise: hands-on experience with robotics (working robots, robohands, etc.), automation systems, or hardware-in-the-loop environments
- Builder’s mindset: you love tinkering, iterating, and solving new technical puzzles
- Communication: clear technical writing and presentation abilities
- C1 English proficiency
- Experience with demo environments, prototyping, or customer-facing engineering roles is a plus

Compensation and benefits
- Compensation: IC contract with an hourly rate based on your fit & location. Please note that we cannot transact with countries under U.S. sanctions
